FAQ

What medium-sized dog breeds is the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed best for?

The Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed is designed for dogs that sit in that important space between toy breeds and genuinely large dogs — substantial enough to need proper support, but not so big that they need an oversized mattress.

It is a great size to consider for breeds such as:

  • French Bulldogs
  • Beagles
  • English Cocker Spaniels
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
  • Staffordshire Bull Terriers
  • Miniature Schnauzers
  • Shiba Inus
  • Whippets
  • smaller Border Collies
  • smaller Australian Shepherds
  • and similarly sized mixed breeds

Across German and wider European dog-bed sizing guides, breeds such as Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, Staffies, Whippets and Shiba Inus repeatedly sit in the medium-sized range.

Always consider your individual dog’s body length, weight and favourite sleeping position as well as breed.

If your dog likes to stretch out fully, give them a little more room. If they naturally curl up tightly, Medium may feel wonderfully generous.

Medium dog. Proper mattress. Room to sleep their way.

Is the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed big enough for dogs that sleep stretched out?

Yes — provided the bed is appropriately matched to your individual dog.

Medium dogs often change sleeping positions throughout the night. A French Bulldog may curl tightly one minute and stretch flat on its side the next. A Beagle or Whippet may want considerably more length when fully relaxed.

That is why bed choice should never be based on breed name alone.

The Medium Rebound Foam™ gives your dog a stable, defined sleeping surface where they can:

  • curl up
  • lie on their side
  • stretch their legs
  • rest their head on the raised surround
  • or lean into the edge

If your dog regularly sleeps completely stretched out and reaches the edge of their current bed, moving up a size may give them the extra room they prefer.

The right bed should fit the way your dog actually sleeps — not just the number on the label.

Why is a proper foam mattress especially useful for active medium-sized dogs?

Medium-sized dogs are often extremely active.

Think of Beagles, Staffies, Border Collies, Cocker Spaniels and Australian Shepherds — dogs that may spend hours walking, running, playing, exploring and then come home ready to collapse.

A supportive sleeping surface gives them a stable place to properly rest between all that activity.

Rebound Foam™ combines approximately:

  • 30% memory foam
  • 70% high-density support foam

The memory foam provides cushioning around the body, while the denser foam beneath creates structure and support.

This is very different from a loose-filled cushion that can move, bunch or flatten underneath an active dog.

Big day out. Proper recovery at home.

Is Rebound Foam™ supportive enough for a heavier medium-sized dog such as a Staffy or French Bulldog?

Yes.

This is actually one of the situations where the Rebound Foam™ construction makes the most sense.

Some medium-sized breeds are surprisingly solid and muscular. A Staffy or French Bulldog may have a much denser build than a lighter dog of similar height.

The high-density foam underneath provides the structural support, while the memory foam above adds cushioning and comfort.

Rather than relying on loose filling that simply shifts away from the heavier parts of the body, the dog’s weight is supported across a proper mattress surface.

Compact dog. Serious weight. Proper support underneath.

If your individual dog is at the upper end of the Medium size range or prefers lots of stretching room, consider whether Large may give them an even more generous sleeping area.

Will the Medium Rebound Foam™ mattress flatten or become lumpy like a traditional filled dog bed?

Rebound Foam™ is designed specifically to avoid the common problem of loose-filled beds becoming uneven, lumpy or flattened.

Traditional polyester, cotton or bead-filled cushions can move around inside the cover as the dog repeatedly lies in the same place.

A foam mattress behaves differently.

The Medium Rebound Foam™ uses structured foam layers, so your dog sleeps on a consistent surface rather than loose filling that needs constant shaking or redistributing.

That is particularly useful for dogs that always sleep in exactly the same favourite spot.

No nightly bed-fluffing required.

The mattress is made to rebound and retain its structure rather than gradually becoming a hollow in the middle.

Is the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed suitable for older French Bulldogs, Beagles, Staffies or Cocker Spaniels?

Yes.

As medium-sized dogs get older, they often spend more time sleeping and may become more particular about where and how they rest.

A stable foam mattress gives them a supportive surface underneath, while the memory-foam component provides cushioning around the body.

The raised surround also gives them somewhere to:

  • lean their body
  • rest their head
  • curl against
  • or feel more enclosed while sleeping

For senior dogs with diagnosed arthritis, spinal disease or significant mobility issues, your veterinarian should advise on their specific needs.

But for everyday comfort, a proper supportive mattress can make far more sense than a thin or flattened pet cushion.

They may be slowing down. Their bed shouldn’t be.

Can two smaller dogs share the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed?

They can — if they genuinely like sleeping together and both have enough room to reposition comfortably.

Two smaller dogs that regularly cuddle may prefer sharing one larger sleeping space rather than having separate beds.

Medium can work particularly well for:

  • two toy breeds
  • two small companion dogs
  • a small dog and a slightly larger friend
  • bonded dogs that always sleep touching each other anyway

But every pair is different.

If both dogs like to stretch out, or one values its personal space, moving up to Large may make sharing much more comfortable.

If they already steal each other’s beds, you probably know the answer.

Is the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed easy to clean after muddy walks and wet European weather?

Yes — and this is one of the strongest practical reasons for choosing Rebound Foam™.

Medium dogs often live very active lives: park walks, forest trails, wet grass, muddy paws and rainy winter mornings.

Instead of wrestling an entire bulky bed into the washing machine, the high-contact sleeping cover can be removed and machine washed, while the protected base underneath can be wiped or cleaned separately.

Waterproof mattress protection also helps keep moisture and everyday dog mess away from the foam itself.

That makes the system particularly practical for homes in places like Germany, France, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands where wet-weather walks are simply part of dog ownership.

Muddy dog in. Cover off. Wash. Done.

Is the Medium Rebound Foam™ Dog Bed suitable for indoor and outdoor use?

Yes.

Rebound Foam™ is designed to work beautifully as an everyday indoor bed while also being practical for outdoor living areas.

That means your dog can enjoy the same supportive sleeping surface in places such as:

  • the living room
  • kitchen
  • conservatory
  • covered terrace
  • balcony
  • patio
  • or sheltered outdoor entertaining area

The waterproof protection and easy-clean construction make it far more practical than a delicate indoor-only cushion.

For the longest possible life, we still recommend avoiding unnecessary prolonged exposure to heavy rain and storing the bed somewhere dry when it is not being used.

One proper bed. Inside when you are. Outside when they are.

How do I know whether my dog needs Medium or Large?

This is one of the most useful questions to answer because breed labels can only take you so far.

Two dogs of the same breed can be very different in:

  • body length
  • weight
  • build
  • sleeping position
  • and how much space they like around them

As a general guide, Medium is often a strong option for breeds such as French Bulldogs, Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, Staffies, Cavaliers and similar-sized dogs.

You should consider Large if your dog:

  • is particularly long or heavy for its breed
  • sleeps fully stretched out
  • regularly hangs over the edge of its current bed
  • likes extra space
  • shares with another dog
  • or is close to the top end of the Medium size recommendation

German dog-bed retailers increasingly use back length and body weight alongside breed guidance, because this gives owners a more realistic indication than breed name alone.

When in doubt, a little extra sleeping room is rarely wasted.
